Palacio O'Farrill Hotel ****

Another spendid four-star Old Havana hotel, near to the bay entry and near to Plaza de la Catedral, is one of the maximum tesitmonials of neoclassic architecture in Cuba, in the beginnings of the XIX century. Initially a mansion, it was restored and offered to the hotel market with a very high quality service. The Palacio O'Farrill Hotel takes its name in honour of its ancient owners.

The Don Ricardo O'Farrill y O'Daland duke, of Irish origin, was one of the greatest authorities in slavery business and he was the owner of various sugar factiries. The O'Farrill family was one of the more distinct of the epoch, because of their nobiliar titles. After the O'Farrill family, the palace was the residence of various prestigious establishments, among them, the supreme court, the justice secretariat, the lawyers college, the special fund of public works and finally the vehicles registration office who rested there until 1959.

The enrichment of architectonic elements from XVIII, XIX and XX centuries, the furnishing and the ambience of each one of its three flors, produce an exceptional effect between history and modernity, which allow to revive three centuries of history in aa instant.
