María La Gorda Hotel ***

The María La Gorda Hotel is ideal for all diving fans. In fact, it includes one of the most famous and appreciated diving centers of Cuba. The María La Gorda Hotel is located in the westernmost part of Pinar del Río and thus of Cuba, where the tourist will be able to enjoy one of the most untouched areas of the Cuban archipelago. Due to luxuriant flora, fauna and the landscapes, both marine and terrestrial, this region has been declared as biosphere reserve by UNESCO.

In the limits of this reserve, called Península de Guanahacabibes, there is a white sand large beach, washed by the Caribbean blue sea, made up of rich and extensive vegetation areas and it's precisely there where the famous María La Gorda beach is located, a name coming from old pirate tales and where also is found the homonymous diving center.

The Hotel María la Gorda provides 55 rooms, out of which, 35 are located just in front of the sea and the others are wooden cottages located on a second coastal line. The hotel has a buffet restaurant, a bar-cafeteria and one a la carta restaurant specialized on fish and seafood. This hotel don't accept credit cards. María la Gorda is 304 km away from Havana and is only reachable by land.
